Mum remembers Royal Alex staff fondly

Sue McGill, 49, of Roman Walk, Sompting, contacted The Argus after reading our Royal Alex supplement.

She said: " My child was treated at the old Royal Alex.

"Back in 1994 my son Andrew who was 13 months old was treated at the Old Alex for acute mastoiditis, or as Emma my six-year-old daughter at that time said 'Mum, Andrew has a pixie ear'.

"The consent form was signed ready for surgery but due to prompt action by staff with anti-inflammatory and antibiotic medication he was saved the operation and made a full recovery with no after effects.

"Memory of our time there was watching the seagulls dive bombing the windows and foraging for food."
