MP Norman Baker has joined the fight to stop the reintroduction of animal testing for cosmetics (The Argus, November 25).
I have been trying to understand why such an ethical company as The Body Shop, which is against animal testing, would want to sell the business to L'Oreal.
Dame Anita Roddick, non-executive director of The Body Shop, has said about the sale: "L'Oreal has displayed visionary leadership in wanting to be an authentic advocate and supporter of our values, especially in ..... animal welfare".
Now we hear possible EU legislation could result in the forced testing of cosmetics on animals in the EU. What stance will L'Oreal take on this I wonder?
