The article "Hunt supporters turn out in force" reports "hunting is proving more popular than ever"

(The Argus, December 27).

Who came to this conclusion? Was there a poll or is it just another statement from the person who believes huntspeople are above the law?

The law was supposedly set down to protect the general public. Didn't the hunting ban come about from public pressure?

Yet huntspeople believe the hunt has the right to trample anyone's garden or smallholding and its hounds have been known to attack and sometimes kill small animals and pets.

As an anti-hunt monitor, I have had huntspeople try to run us down with their horses, attack us and, in some cases, threaten to kill us.

I thought threats to kill and physical violence were taken seriously by the law and could result in prosecution.

Not, it seems, if perpetrated by the hunt, so I guess they are probably right - they are above the law.

We might as well dispense with the law and have complete anarchy.

If we could use the same rules as them, there would be a ban on this barbaric blood sport soon enough.
