Work to develop station is running behind schedule
What on earth is happening at
Pool Valley Coach Station? Plans
were put forward for the regeneration
of the coach station and
work started in early December
last year, supposedly to be completed
by Easter.
The builders have built new
bays - apparently too small - and
repaved the area between Pool
Valley and East Street and that is it.
Currently the area seems to
have turned into a car park,
which is free due to there being
no yellow lines. It is also a lorry
park for the builders.
It is a building site, except
there are no builders in sight.
The businesses around this
area are suffering terribly.
Brighton and Hove City Council
have offered a 5% discount on
business rates. How very kind
and generous of them considering
it has become a no-through
area for five months with no sign
of things improving in the near
future. Certainly not by the summer
which is fast approaching.
Passengers for Stagecoach and
National Express services who
normally use Pool Valley must be
fed up too - there is no shelter or
other facilities at the temporary
stops at Old Steine.
Would a member of the council
like to respond and let the
businesses and residents know
when work will be completed?
