I have heard a lot of people express the same anger and dismay felt by D Burton regarding the annual destruction of our once beautiful Victoria Gardens by travelling tent shows (Letters, May 10).
When they depart they leave us with a sea of mud and ruts that sometimes seems to stay for the whole summer season.
The awful thing is that this sorry mess is visible to people visiting our "city by the sea" which is more like an inner-city football pitch once all the razzmatazz has departed
