I share the sentiments of Craig Stirling regarding marching bands (Letters, May 6). While the Brighton Children's Parade had far more drums and whistles than in previous years, it would be so much better with marching bands interspersed.
I noticed many people left once they had seen their children. Perhaps the presence of bands would have encouraged them to stay to see the 72 schools parading so wonderfully?
