FORMER X Factor star Lucy Spraggan has told fans she will continue her tour despite being attacked in Brighton on Friday.

The 25-year-old was in Middle Street, following her show at Concorde 2 when two women attacked her.

In a message to fans yesterday, she said: “Me and my wife are OK. Not a great way to finish the UK leg of the tour, but hey ho. Thank you for all the kind words. Finishing the rest of the tour in Europe as planned.”

The Unsinkable singer posted photographs on social media to show the injuries she sustained.

In one she is pictured holding a clump of her hair. In it, she posted: “That’s my own hair. Was attacked tonight after the show in Brighton, along with my guitarist and wife. Sussex Police have been amazing.”

In another post her face is covered in scratches and bruises. She captioned the photo “sore”.

The 25-year-old had played the final date of her tour at Concorde 2 in Madeira Drive, Brighton, on Thursday evening.

She was walking along Middle Street with her guitarist wife, Georgina Gordon, in the early hours when they were set upon by two women.

Ms Spraggan said she was bitten and had clumps of her hair pulled out in the attack before they managed to get away.

She said in one her posts: “Got a bit of whiplash and a few bruises but we’re all good. Scary. Be safe out there!”

Ms Spraggan was one of the stars of the 2012 edition of X Factor and has played in Brighton on a number of occasions, including at Pride.

She has spoken openly about her sexuality in the past but police said the attack was not being treated as homophobic.

A Sussex Police spokesman said officers were called to Middle Street at 3am.

He added: “A 26-year-old woman and 27 year-old woman, both from London, have been arrested on suspicion of assault, occasioning actual body harm and both have been bailed until April 15 pending further enquiries.”
