TRIBUTES have been paid to a “much-loved” hairdresser who died after collapsing due to a suspected medical episode.

Harry Mutter, 33, was found by emergency services who were called to 24-storey residential tower block Sussex Heights in St Margaret’s Place, Brighton, on Friday last week.

Mr Mutter was initially taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, then transferred to the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, where he died on Monday.

His family and friends took to social media in their hundreds to pay tribute.

His sister Polly Perez said: “It is with deepest regret that we announce that Harry Mutter passed away peacefully earlier today.

“A beloved son of Diane Callaghan and Kevin Mutter, partner to Nick Phillips, brother to Jessica Mutter, Polly Perez, Sam Mutter, Frankie Davis and Camille Davis, uncle and godfather to Matthew.

“He will be forever loved, forever missed and forever in our hearts.”

One of Mr Mutter’s colleagues at Mr Leo hairdressers in Western Road, Brighton, who did not want to be named, said: “He was a very much-loved member of the team here and lots of our clientele loved him too.

“He worked as a hairdresser here for a very long time. I think it was about six years.

“He was very well respected around the shop and will be sorely missed by all of us.

“Harry was a very familiar face here.

“He was a close friend of mine and it was so sudden.

“We are sad to hear about him passing away.”

Mr Mutter was originally from Lymington and lived in Gloucester Road, Brighton.

He previously worked at hairdressers Mr Toppers in Brighton and Shine in Southampton.

A Sussex Police spokesman said police and an ambulance attended Sussex Heights shortly after 7am on Friday “where a 33-year-old man had collapsed following a suspected medical episode”.

He added: “The man was initially taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, but was subsequently transferred to the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath, where sadly he later died.

“The coroner has been informed.”
