A RESTAURANT owner who deliberately crashed into a motorbike has been jailed.

Mario Bove hit the back of the bike and injured the man and woman on it when he struck them in Eastern Road, Brighton, last year.

He owns Zafferelli in New Road, Brighton.

The 63-year-old, of Eastern Road, was caught on CCTV smashing into the back of the bike, causing his bumper to fall off.

The Argus:

The motorcyclist, who was 26 at the time, recognised Bove as the owner of Zaferelli, and police used his number plate to identify him.

Bove pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm at Lewes Crown Court in June, and disqualified from driving immediately.

However, he was seen driving his Mercedes C320 in Brighton in September, and was charged with driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

Bove was sentenced to 12 months in prison and disqualified from driving for 30 months.
