A WOMAN is devastated after losing her wedding ring while travelling home on a train.

Joanna Baxter has been searching for the ring since it went missing last Thursday.

She thinks it must have slipped off her finger on a train to Plumpton station, near her home in Wivelsfield Green.

Mrs Baxter, a 33-year-old actuary, is now offering a £500 reward for the safe return of one of her most prized possessions.

She said: “I was wearing the ring and lost it somewhere on my way home on Thursday evening.

“I realised it was no longer on my finger an hour or two after getting home.

“We’ve completely searched the house but have been unable to find it so I must have lost it on my way home.

“I’m really upset about losing it as it has great sentimental value.

“If anyone has found or finds the ring please can they let me know as I am desperate to get it back.

“We got married last February in Sussex.”

Mrs Baxter thinks her ring could have been lost anywhere between Cannon Street in London and Ore.

She boarded the 5.23pm train from London Bridge to Haywards Heath.

She switched services at Haywards Heath to catch the 6.12pm train to Plumpton, which terminated at Ore.

The ring is engraved with the name of her husband, James, and their wedding date February 17, 2017.

The platinum band has diamonds dotted around the outside.

Govia Thameslink Railway, owner of Southern Railway which operates the services Mrs Baxter travelled on, said: “We were very sorry to hear that one of our passengers had lost her wedding ring.

“We have checked that the loss is logged with our lost property team, retweeted her message and have also put the message out to our depots and station staff to watch out for it.

“We’d be grateful if passengers could keep an eye open for it too and hand it in to a member of our staff if they find it.”

The couple are hoping for the safe return of the ring after days of fruitless searching.

Mrs Baxter said the cash reward will be offered with no questions asked if the ring is returned to her.

Anyone who finds the ring can email jobaxter22@gmail.com or comment directly on her Facebook post about the lost ring.
