CHILDREN from Munchkins day care group in Newhaven got to meet their favourite animals at Drusillas Zoo Park.
The animals they got to meet and touch included a cockroach, millipede, gerbil, chinchilla and even a meerkat before going on to spend time with reindeer and huskies.
Jannet Gunn, the lead organiser at Munchkins, said: “The children had a lovely time at Drusillas which included an educational session that all enjoyed including the parents and guardians who attended.”
The parent and toddler group for children aged five and under closed for Christmas and re-opens today.
They will have been been some of the last to see the Thomas the Tank Engine train, which will be leaving the zoo park near Alfriston.
The last train ride will run on Sunday.
