A BMW driver arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after crashing into two pedestrians has been released under investigation.
A 69-year-old woman, from Rottingdean, was left with life-threatening injuries and a 61-year-old man, also from Rottingdean, was seriously hurt.
The 40-year-old male driver, from Newhaven, was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a vehicle while unfit through drugs, driving without due care and driving without a licence, before being released.
The crash happened on the A259 Marine Drive in Rottingdean.
