TWO people had to be rescued by firefighters after their house was struck by lightning.
They were saved by firefighters from the first floor of the house, in South Street, East Hoathly, by ladder at around 4.30am today.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was a ground floor fire.
They received multiple reports of a telegraph pole being struck by lightning in South Street at 4.17am, and sent crew from Uckfield fire station.
