A FORMER teacher who admitted non-recent sexual offences against a pupil at a school in Seaford has been jailed.

Christopher Jarvis, 73, had previously been sentenced to eight years imprisonment in 2013 for a series of sexual offences and received a further concurrent jail term in 2015 for gross indecency against a boy.

Jarvis pleaded guilty at Brighton Magistrates Court to three charges of gross indecency with a boy under the age of 14 between December 1966 and July 1969, when the victim was aged between 11 and 13.

The charges in all three cases related to St Peter’s, a now-defunct boarding school in Seaford where Jarvis worked.

Kathryn Newman, from the CPS, said:“The defendant abused his position of trust as a teacher.”
