A MAN has been jailed for three years for sexually assaulting four teenage girls last summer.

Robert Young, 39, a cleaner of Denham Road, Burgess Hill, was sentenced at Hove Crown Court on Friday.

He had been convicted at Lewes Crown Court on January 17 of four sexual assaults in Burgess Hill.

A 16-year-old girl was touched in Gatehouse Lane on July 15. A 14-year-old girl was touched in Fairfield Road and a 17-year-old girl was also touched, both on July 18.

Another 17-year-old was sexually touched in St John’s Park on the following day, July 19.

Young has been in custody since his arrest last July.

Detective Constable Andy Robinson said: “Young would spot the girls walking in the street and follow them, waiting until he could approach and assault them.

“None of them were physically injured but all were very shocked and upset by their experiences.”

Young will be a registered sex offender for life.
