A CENTRE for people with mental health problems has been given a £3,000 refurbishment.
The project at Linwood community mental health centre in Haywards Heath was paid for by the Rotary Club of Cuckfield and Lindfield and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s charity Heads On.
The centre has new furniture, artwork and refreshments for patients waiting for appointments.
The work was done to make the waiting room warmer and welcoming following feedback from patients who said the space was tired and outdated.
Rotary club member Judith Pratt said: “Mental health conditions affect people from all walks of life and transforming this reception area to create a welcoming and positive atmosphere is an important step in supporting people on their journey to recovery.”
Linwood service manager Glen McCready said: “We support people when they can be having a really difficult time and it is so important that people feel reassured, from their very first visit.
“It has been fantastic to work with the rotary club and our waiting room is now so much more welcoming and calming.”
