SHEDS and outbuildings are being searched for a missing man.

Police said they were "extremely worried" for the welfare of Ervin Underdown and are asking the public to search any sheds and outbuildings in case he is sheltering there.

The 32-year-old from Balcombe was last seen in Meadow Close on Sunday at 11.30am.

Officers and volunteers are looking for him and believe he could still be in Balcombe or Ardingly.

Mr Underdown is of south east Asian appearance, tanned, 5ft 8in, with black cropped hair and brown eyes.

He is a heavy smoker and was last seen wearing a light blue top and dark coloured jeans.

Inspector Roy Hodder said: "We are becoming more and more concerned for Ervin as time goes by.

"If anyone sees him or knows where he is, please call 999 and quote Operation Stacker."
