THE MAN behind an innovative Sussex charity to help the homeless has thanked a garden centre for its involvement in raising money for those in need.

Schoolboy Layton Munnery, nine, from Portslade, Barn Coffee Shop staff, and Clive Gravett from The Budding Foundation assisted South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks in raising £1,300 for Off The Fence, a charity providing services to the vulnerable founded by Paul Young.

With the money raised, Mr Young plans to launch a ‘shower van’ for the homeless.

It will work in conjunction with the charity’s already-existing ‘mobile launderette van’ and feminine hygiene van.

Paul has recently been in touch again with Layton, a budding artist, who will be volunteering for the charity this year.
