AN elderly Staffordshire bull terrier is seeking a loving new home after being abandoned on the South Downs.
Ten-year-old Bert is now in the care of Dogs Trust Shoreham after he was found wandering on Highdown Hill at Worthing.
Staff at the charity believe he was deemed “too old” by his previous owners, although he has plenty of life and love in him.
Rehoming centre manager Tracey Rae said: “Bert is a real sweetheart who just wants to be part of a family.
“He’s looking for a relaxing lifestyle where he can laze around, mooch about in a garden, eat tasty treats and have sofa snuggles.
“We would love to find this friendly, lovable character a second chance at happiness.”
