TWO women died after the car they were travelling in crashed into two parked vehicles and a wall.

The grey Suzuki Grand Vitara they were in was travelling north on the A286 Stockbridge Road, Chichester, when the accident happened at 9.25pm on Wednesday.

No other vehicles were involved.

Sussex Police closed the road between the junctions of the A27 at St George’s Road until about 2.40am on Thursday for scene investigation work.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service were also sent to the scene.

The driver, a local woman in her 70s, and her passenger, a local woman in her 60s, were pronounced dead at the scene.
