STUDENTS brought Christmas cheer to senior citizens.

The Student Union at Worthing College organised a party for local pensioners at the Sanditon Conference Centre located on the college campus.

The day began with students preparing food, decorating the venue and organising a raffle and the entertainment.

In true Bake Off style the students also got involved making delicious homemade cakes to make it an extra special time for all their guests.

Vice principal Steven Foden commented: “I feel extremely proud of this group of students who gave up their own time to plan and deliver this event for people in our local community and I know each of them found it a rewarding experience.”

Invitations were extended to a range of groups and clubs including the Stroke Club, the Salvation Army and a church group from East Preston.

The 50 guests were welcomed by the students and Jasper the college dog.

Brad Hardwick, the president of the Student Union, was thrilled with the event saying: “It was great to see all our guests having such a good time.

“It was hugely satisfying for all of us to get such a great reaction from everyone, and they were very appreciative of all our efforts.”
