A CAR smashed through road barriers with two children inside late on Christmas Day.
The driver, father of one of the children, was taken to hospital after the crash in Teville Gate, Worthing, last night.
Both youngsters had to be checked over for injuries, but escaped unharmed from the crash, which happened at around 11.44pm.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said Teville Gate was closed until shortly after 1am, but could not confirm whether the driver had been arrested or not.
It is also unknown, at this stage, if the driver was drunk.
