A WORTHING woman is joining the RSPCA to encourage animal lovers to take on a trekking challenge to raise funds to help animals in need.

The Threshold Trail series will see three events in June and July with participants taking on the double marathon challenge of 52-miles on some very scenic routes.

This year people can choose to walk, jog or run the distance to raise money for the RSPCA and help the charity continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in desperate need of care.

Nicky Ifould from Worthing is taking part in the first event in the Cotswolds and has been training hard to prepare for the challenge.

She said: “It’s a big challenge to do, especially in one day but it will be worth it to know the money raised will help animals in need.”

Nicky, who is also Acting Head of Events at the RSPCA, started working for the charity in September 2017 after coming from Sussex children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House.

She added: “As an animal lover, I’ve always admired the work the charity does in rescuing and caring for animals.

“Having joined the organisation recently as part of their fundraising events team, I’ve seen first hand the fantastic work they do and the passion of the people who care for these animals.

“Now I want to take on this challenge to raise money for animals who aren’t as fortunate as my lovely dog Holly who I’ve had for eight years.

“The Threshold Trail series is a brilliant event with three locations and the choice to take on the double marathon over two days or non-stop.
