FOR the second year running a new venue will be opened up by the innovative Worthing Summer Busk during the daytime on Saturday.
The Montague Quarter shopping mall arcade ‘makes its debut’ with its generous acoustic and atmosphere which benefits unamplified performers to striking effect.
Here, instrumental ensembles and singing groups will receive their best town outdoor showcase yet, and with a variety of musical offerings.
Meanwhile, the two open air venues will be doing their normal stuff. South Street Square will host the small groups and solo artistes while the Montague Place Bandstage and foreground will have the electric bands and the dance.
This will be the 17th music and awareness-raising charity flag day of the Worthing Churches Homeless Projects in the town centre.
Shoreham-by-Sea is one of the towns covered by WCHP and Shoreham Allstars for the first time are generously partnering in staging the event with their mobile bandstage.
Some of the people who study music and performance at this young musicians’ collective, which serves Worthing, Shoreham and Lancing, will be in action on the day.
It is a day of generosity, with the public responding from their pockets and getting behind the voluntary statement made by the area’s musicians in support of the homeless and WCHP’s continuous work. Of the 18 different performing acts, 15 will be for the first time at the Busk.
This year, the Worthing Children’s Parade will pass by the open air venues during the morning.
The St Paul’s venue, which made its own first appearance in the Summer Busk last year, will host some music separately for WCHP in its cafe during the daytime on July 21.
