Greenpeace campaigners are stepping up their campaign against nuclear power.

The Brighton and Hove branch of the lobby group plan to hand signed posters to the city's MPs asking them to vote against the Prime Minister's plans to renew Britain's nuclear deterrent, Trident.

The campaigners have been handing out leaflets to raise awareness and gathered signatures from residents at markets, cafes and environment centres which they hope will persuade David Lepper, Celia Barlow and Des Turner to represent their views when the vote goes before Parliament in March.

Anyone who wants to add their name to the petition can do so at stalls which will be set up at Kensington Gardens in the North Laine today and Sunday.

There are also posters left permanently at Moments Cafe, North Street and Brighton Peace and Environment Centre.
