Police in Lewes have launched a crackdown after a spate of graffiti around the town.
Earlier this month vandals targeted children's play equipment in Baxter's Field. Police were joined on the crackdown by Lewes District Council's "clean and green" team - which has offered rewards of £100 for information leading to the conviction of vandals responsible for graffiti.
Police today said a 13-year-old boy, from Lewes, had been interviewed and a second boy is to be questioned in the coming days.
On Friday, PCSO Andy Ash was on patrol in Landport when he saw a 16-year-old-youth spraying graffiti.
PCSO Ash and other officers arrested the youth, who was bailed to return to Eastbourne custody centre.
PC Duncan Ellison, Lewes neighborhood officer, said "We are finally making breakthroughs in identifying some of those responsible for this mindless vandalism. It makes the area look unsightly.
"Individuals quite often have their own tag so if we can obtain evidence of one incident it is possible we can link the culprit to other incidents. I hope these arrests may deter others from vandalising Lewes in this way."
Anyone with information on vandalism in the town should call Lewes police on 0845 6070999.
