Steve Coogan is set to travel to Hawaii to shoot a movie with Ben Stiller.
The Alan Partridge star, who lives in Hove, has also been filming a new series of his comedy creation Saxondale.
Speaking about why he chooses to live in England and work on TV projects instead of moving to America, he said: "More than ever, I now appreciate being able to do interesting work in television. It matters to me. You can be blinded by the lights of Hollywood, especially when you think there's this pot of gold somewhere. It's not healthy. Saxondale stops me selling my soul, basically."
Coogan will appear as a psychiatrist in the new series of hit American TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm with Seinfeld creator Larry David.
The new series of rock roadie turned rodent-exterminator Saxondale is starting on BBC2 at 9.30pm on Thursday August 23.
