A mystery buyer has stepped forward to make an offer on a Grade 2-listed lighthouse overlooking the English Channel on an East Sussex cliff-top.
A preservation society hoped to buy the 175-year-old Belle Tout lighthouse at Beachy Head, near Eastbourne, and had permission to run it as a B&B.
But a spokesman said the private owners had accepted a third party offer.
