I find it really annoying that my schoolteacher neighbour cant even be bothered to clear the dusting of snow off her car to attempt the journey into work for the fourth day now, yet galavants off shopping without hesitation at 9-30 and presumably whilst still being paid.
And can someone please define a 'non-essential journey' that keeps getting bandied round by the police etc? If you didnt need to go somewhere in the first place, then surely you wouldn't go!

still no sign of snow plough in newbridge it is left to traffic to clear it. The bus route outside the villas and labour club is very hazardous. What happens if a bus slides, hits the railings and tumbles past toy town down into the traffic lights. It does not bear thinking about it is totally unacceptable.”
Yes you guessed it we need the snow plough here yet again.
Why does caerphilly cbc not sort out bus routes as a priority for the safety of drivers and passengers yet AM's or certain councillors have their places snow ploughed and gritted every time.

It's down mainly to the fear of the school being sued if someone slips and hurts themselves coupled with the idea that the kids can't play outside in bad weather. Add to this the fact that teachers don't live locally anymore it all builds up to head teachers being between a rock and a hard place in managing the problem.
In response to marsheys comment, you really don't know what you are talking about! Teachers do not decide if the schools are open or not, it's all down to the health and safety issues. I personally think that in this weather children are safer staying home. A few days off will not affect their education. After the reports of the 2 school buses in wales crashing this week, it's really lucky how no one was seriously hurt!
