WHAT nonsense Shirley Howe's Star Letter on September 19 was.
I've lived in Farnborough 20 years, at the back of the hospital, and we are never disturbed by “roaring, screaming jets” and what risks? Thousands of planes fly and few crash.
Very few jets use Biggin Hill, all the rest are propeller-engined and a few helicopters.
Unless you live in the actual Biggin Hill surrounds, I don't see how you can be upset by noise and pollution. It is not a busy airport, so no density.
As for “flight paths”, forget them. When I worked as a gardener, on retirement, in West Wickham, planes never disturbed me in the slightest.
