Nanette Cross is celebrating after winning gold in her age group in the heptathlon at the British Veterans' Multi- Events Championships in Sheffield.
For 60-year-old Nanette, from Bromley, it was some consolation after the recent World Veterans' Championships, in Brisbane, in which she was controversially disqualified over a technicality when racing in the 300 metres hurdles an event in which she is a former World medalist.
“I Feel I’m a performer by nature. It’s just such a part of what I do and who I am. I can’t let it go. I really want to be the best at it.”
