These two street musicians were a familiar sight in Brighton before and after the Second World War.
The harpist was Frederick Alexander and the violinist was called Joseph Marcantonio.
They played to a high standard and were deservedly popular with both tourists and residents. They were usually playing in the old town or in The Lanes.
There were few other buskers in those days whereas now there are a great number in a musical city.
Their best time ever was when the war ended and happy citizens dropped hundreds of pounds into their laps.
