The houses in Church Road, Hove, look much the same now as they did a century ago.
But the street, pictured looking east towards St John’s church in Palmeira Square, is much busier than it was.
There is just one bus pictured whereas today there would be several. There are people walking in the road.
Although there are some shops on the south side of the street in this postcard, there are few on the north which now has many restaurants and cafes.
The church in Church Road is not St John’s but St Andrew’s at the bottom of George Street.
