COUNCILLORS are challenging the Government to uphold its commitment to child refugees.
Green and Labour councillors in Brighton and Hove are calling on the Government to continue to fund councils so they can accommodate more refugees.
Green councillor Leo Littman criticised the decision to “close down” the Dubs amendment to provide sanctuary for 3,000 unaccompanied refugee children staying in European camps.
The council received four young people under the plan but offers to re-house more have been turned down.
