MEMBERS of the Brighton and Hove for Europe and the Sussex branch of the European Movement UK were out in force on Saturday as part of a nationwide day of action.

The groups were in Brighton city centre to campaign for a future side-by-side with European partners and inside the EU.

Members set up outside Marks and Spencer in Western Road where they talked to the public about their opposition to leaving the EU. They also circulated campaign leaflets and recruited new members.

Organiser Kim Gordon said: “We are out making our voice heard.

“Now more than ever we believe that a future at the heart of Europe is in the UK’s best interests – a belief which we know is very widely shared.

“The negative impact of Brexit is already beginning to be felt across the country.”
