A COUNCIL has received recognition for a report it compiled about parking.

Brighton and Hove City Council was named the winner of the best parking report out of 70 entries in the Patrol Parc awards.

The event praises local authorities for publishing the best presented reports.

Judges look out for how helpful the report is to residents and considers the council’s policies and the quality of information.

Deputy council leader Gill Mitchell, chairman of the council’s environment, transport and sustainability committee, received the award on behalf of the council from Louise Ellman MP, who is the chairman of the transport select committee.

The council has been shortlisted every year since the awards launched in 2009.

It was praised for consistently producing outstanding reports.
