VISITORS were taken back to medieval times when jousters clashed at Arundel Castle.
Knights in suits of armour on horseback fought each other with lances in a tournament at the castle, which dates back to 1068.
This year’s event attracted jousting talent from as far afield as Canada and also welcomed two women competitors to the tilt rail at Arundel Castle for the first time.
In a nail-biting conclusion, the Kingdom of France made the final after nine years of trying, only to lose out to former champions the Kingdom of Poland by just five points.
England’s Stacy Van Dolah-Evans took both the individual jousting title and victory in the hunting games.
He will return next year as Marshall of the Field for the 10th Jousting and Medieval Tournament.
