Hundreds of thousands of revellers will take to the streets for Pride celebrations on Saturday.
More than 150,000 people packed into Preston Park for Britain’s biggest free festival last year. Organisers expect it to be even bigger this year.
More than 50 floats are expected to take part in the procession which has the international theme of Pride around the world.
The floats, representing countries and cities around the world, will set up in Madeira Drive from 9am, with the parade leaving for Preston Park at 11am.
The procession will tour the city centre before heading up London Road and is expected to reach Preston Park at 1pm.
The festival arena in the park will open at noon.
There will be a funfair, the Wild Fruit dance tent and Revenge’s cabaret tent will host acts by some of Britain’s top DJs and drag artists.
Preston Road will be closed to traffic during the event and there will be no parking on site or in streets surrounding the park.
Normal bus services will be diverted away from Preston Park all day but a limited-stop shuttle bus will run.
The Metrobus 500 will operate regularly between 1.15pm and 9.20pm between the park and Old Steine.
First Capital Connect is doubling the number of carriages on its train services between London and Brighton on Saturday.
The last train back to London leaves Brighton at 11.37pm and calls at all stations to Gatwick before continuing to East Croydon and London.
The week-long Pride festival events will continue after the Preston Park arena closes at 8pm.
The streets of Kemp Town will come alive with The Village Street Party on Saturday night.
St James’s Street and other roads will be closed to traffic as bars and food stalls set up to keep the celebrations going until the early hours.

I'm surprised the Argus have not deleted some of the above posts considering it is obvious racism from small minded idiots. Do the Argus like to encourage this form of abuse and racism. SM of Crowborough will be there at Pride wishing he could come out of the closet and be as proud as so many others.

if i was still living in Preston Park area, which I did, and was told I couldn't park outside my house because a load of shirtlifters, carpet munchers and and blokes dressing up as women could have a party, I'd tell them quite bluntly to get F****d.Not everyone in Brighton supports these people and what they stand for.
