Body found at suicide spot
11:12am Saturday 27th September 2008
The body of a man was recovered from the bottom of cliffs at a notorious suicide spot.
The man was seen on the beach below the Belle Toute lighthouse at Beachy Head during routine checks on Saturday.
Police called in lifeboat crews from Birling Gap and Eastbourne just after 8am to help recover the body.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “The body was discovered during routine checks and inquiries are underway to establish his identity.”
