Some would consider waking up to David Cameron every day as a nightmare – but for one Brighton man it is the reality.

Marcus Stefaneli has taken it upon himself to plaster his studio flat walls with 250 photographs of the Prime Minister.

And the artist now plans to live in his one-room property under Cameron’s gaze for a total of 30 days.

He said: “We are always hearing about politicians invading our lives but I felt like this was the ultimate challenge.

“I’ve been going for a few days now and it is a bit unnerving to be honest.”

“Everywhere I go he is there. Whether it’s going to the toilet or making lunch, it’s quite disturbing. I want to see what impact it has on me.”

To accompany the challenge he has decided to keep a video diary to record his thought and dreams across the month.

He added: “I’ve had a few strange dreams, one about Judi Dench coming to visit but none specifically about Mr Cameron yet.”

However, on day five of his experiment he took to his blog to tell followers that he had felt “something dark was creeping” entering his dreams.

“I think it may have been David himself,” he added.

Everywhere he goes in the tiny flat, the Prime Minister is there.

From, the bookcase to the toilet seat, oven and television. There is no escape.

Perhaps the most startling view in the flat is when he looks in the mirror to see hundreds of the old Etonian looking back at him.

“It’s really quite creepy,” he added.

Mr Stefanelli, who volunteers at Age UK, works as a caretaker at the Royal Spa Nursery in Park Hill.

But his real passion is art.

Among his other more recent eye-opening stunts include a day spent trying to cry by using “artificial means”.

He said: “I started reading a really sad story but that didn’t work. Then I tried not blinking but ended up rubbing onion near my eyes.”
