Nick Cave involved in Hove speed camera smash
3:54pm Wednesday 8th December 2010 in Quirkies
Singer Nick Cave and his twin sons escaped unhurt after his car ploughed into a speed camera.
The front man of critically acclaimed rock band the Bad Seeds and Grinderman lost control of his Jaguar in Kingsway, Hove.
Cave, 53, was not arrested but police are looking into the incident which left a Sussex Safer Roads Partnership camera and a surrounding barrier badly damaged.
People living in flats overlooking the busy seafront road rushed out to help as police and ambulances went to the scene on Tuesday at 7pm.
They provided blankets for the singer and his sons Arthur and Earl who were shocked but unhurt.
Paramedics checked the family at the scene but none of them needed hospital treatment.
