Brighton man's surprise at last Christmas card

SURPRISE: Malcolm Dawes with his late Christmas card SURPRISE: Malcolm Dawes with his late Christmas card

The festive season is still being celebrated in one Brighton home.

Malcolm Dawes could not hide his surprise when a Christmas card landed on his doormat – especially as it was posted four weeks ago.

Mr Dawes had been expecting the letter from his friend, who is a Church of Scotland Minister, to turn up before December 25 and had almost forgotten about it by the time it arrived.

The card was originally posted in a part of Glasgow on December 13 and finally reached Mr Dawes' home in Rugby Road, Brighton, on January 12.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “We apologise to any customers who have had mis-delivered or delayed mail.”

Anyone with concerns about their post should call the customer services team on 08457 740740 or through the website at royalmail.com so that the complaint can be properly logged and investigated.

The Argus wants to hear about your late post. Call the newsdesk on 01273 544519 or email news@theargus.co.uk

Who ever said newspapers only had news in them? Just because it isn't hardcore groundbreaking news doesn't mean people aren't interested. You read it didn't you, and thought enough of it to post a comment too.
