Do you think Albion will be able to fill the Falmer stadium to capacity?

To begin with, yes but once the fuss has died down it will depend on which division the team is playing in and how they are faring.

Yep. That will never change!! Think of me tomorrow, sweating on the result from Colchester!

Fortunately that is not my call. A lot of players are out of contract at the end of the season and Dean Wilkins and Dick Knight have some tough decisions to make. You cannot afford too much sentiment in football but that is easier said than done.

For myself it still hurts what Archer and Co did this to club. As a journalist do you believe it was a conspiracy to destroy the club to fill their own pockets with money even though David Bellotti, still active in politics today strongly denies there was any wrong doing.

I'm not sure about the conspiracy theory, I think it was more a case of total incompetence. Clearly though there were some strange goings on during that period, as The Argus exposed.

Ben
Nicky Forster, with Tommy Elphick a very close second. Tommy has got plenty of time to win the award in the future.
Glenn Murray has made a very encouraging start to his Albion career and Steve Thomson is beginning to settle in. I like the look of Therry Racon and Matt Richards has been reliable at leftback.

Hi Andy...keep up the good work...my questions are
1)Have you heard any rumours on players in and players out at the end of the season?
2)Do you think Falmer will be built on time?
3)And do you see Dick Knight still in charge at the Albion when they play their first game at Falmer?
Thanks

Alan
1) There are always loads of rumours. The trick is to establish which ones have credibility. I am sure Albion will renew their January attempt to sign Chesterfield midfielder Peter Leven.
2) We can only take the club's word on that but even if it is a little late we have all been waiting for so long that it will not make a huge difference.
3) Dick Knight will decide when he goes. I suspect the move into Falmer will complete his mission and that could be the time when he hands over responsibility.

Andy,
Sometimes you receive criticism on the Argus comments and on fans website North Stand Chat for allegedly being 'too negative'. How do you feel about this?
Keep up the (in my opinion) good work!

Thanks for the praise!
It's water off a duck's back. You have to develop a thick skin in my job. Much of the criticism comes from those who look at everything through blue and white spectacles.

Do you think Paul Wotton of Plymouth would be a good signing and what players would be realistic transfer targets for us?

I think wages might be a problem - players earn much more in the Championship. Also, would he be willing to drop down a division?
The same could apply to loan signings Therry Racon and Matt Richards.

There's been a lot of debate about dean wilkins as a manager, do you think he's the man for the job?

I think Dean has developed into the man for the job. This is his first job in management and it is a much wider ranging role than coaching, which is Dean's real forte. He has found some aspects difficult but he's learning and becoming better all the time.

Jonathan,
I don't really know enough about the legal complexities of the case to offer an informed opinion. I suspect Leeds might get back 5 points (bearing in mind other clubs have been docked 10) but I would be surprised if they are handed back all 15 points. That would cause so many problems with the other promotion contenders. As many people have said, a bigger scandal is the intolerable delay in a decision being made.

Good reporting on Albion as ever Andy, but you must be dying to tell us your thoughts on Stoke City this season?! Surely they will bounce straight back down?

Les (yes we've spotted the name)
They are not up yet! You suffer too many disappointments as a Stoke fan to take anything for granted. If they make it I am reasonably confident they will survive and convinced they will do better than Derby!!

Judging from some of the opinions voiced in you reports you are obviously very knowledgeable about the game. Perhaps you could let us know at what level in the pyramid you played the game and for what teams.

Are you being sarcastic?! Only Brighton Boys and a couple of appearances for Albion Youth. I'm not sure how relevant it is anyway!

I keep tabs on all Albion related sites. That has become part of the job nowadays, though I never rely on information posted without using my sources to establish whether it has any substance.

Do you think there is anything in the rumour quoted by Nicky Forster that 7th place could be involved in the play offs because of the Leeds fiasco?

Unfortunately for Albion I think that is very unlikely. I cannot see the play-off goalposts being moved at this late stage.
