NO requests for an election to fill the vacancies caused by the resignations of Mike Whitney and Pete Summerskill means that the parish council can fill the positions by co-option so volunteers are invited to contact the parish clerk on 01844 291564.

MARGARET Aston stated that all but one allotment rents had been collected and four plots let to new holders. Please contact David Yates of 13 Wykeham Way if you are interested in taking one of the many plots still vacant.

COUNCILLORS agreed to replace the wooden handrail outside the Mabel Parkinson Room with a metal one at a cost of £255 plus VAT.

CONGRATULATIONS to the parish councillors and other volunteers who attempted to clear Banks Pond of rubbish on Saturday. Apart from plastic bags, bottles and tins, an old bicycle was found. Unfortunately no one turned up with a boat which would have made reaching the centre of the pond easier. However, contrast this public-spirited effort with those who demolished part of the brick wall and railings outside the shops on Banks Parade last Friday night.
