TODDLER Lee Ryan has been spending bath-times in the sink after the boiler in his mum's council flat packed in more than four weeks ago.

His mum, Catriona Ryan, 22, a community carer of The Pastures, Downley, High Wycombe, rang Wycombe District Council immediately after her boiler blew in October.

But she claims council contractors were not in touch in the four weeks after their first visit on October 16.

"They said they needed to get a part and would call me when they got it in," she said.

"But I didn't see or hear from them for weeks. Then they said they'd be round on Tuesday so I sat in waiting. But they never showed up."

The 22-year-old single mum is also furious that she now has to go to her mum's house to have a bath.

"I've had to go around to my mum's whenever I need a bath and I have to use the sink for the little one. It's a disgrace that I have to do this."

She said the council told her to call the contractors when she complained.

"They tell me to go the the contractors who never seem to be in. It's frustrating as it seems like everyone just passes the buck."

She added that ongoing problems with the boiler has seen her call in plumbers six times since she moved into the two-bedroom flat in December.

Wycombe District Council say new arrangements have been made to remedy the problem.

A spokesman said: "The contractor wasn't able visit the property on Tuesday due to their current workload, but Ms Ryan was informed."

He added that arrangements were made for contractors to visit on Wednesday afternoon.

He added that it is routine for the tenant to be given the contractor's telephone number to arrange appointment times.
