AN elderly lady lost cash, her pension book and a watch after a man tricked his way into her flat.
A man called at the home of the pensioner at The Homestead, High Wycombe, between 7pm and 7.30pm on Thursday.
He told his victim he owed her neighbour some money and asked if he could walk through her flat to go and see her.
The woman let the man in but became suspicious after he went into her hallway before returning and sitting on a chair in the lounge and asking her for change for a £10 note.
The woman asked him to leave but later noticed that the items were missing from her purse.
The man, who had an accomplice waiting outside, is described as white, 5ft 2ins to 5ft 3ins tall, aged 20 to 25, of large build and wearing blue clothes. His speech was impaired.
Anyone with information should call PC Andrew Deane of High Wycombe Police on 01494 465888
