I was bemused and surprised at the bizarre coalition which has lent its support to the so-called Democracy for Lewisham campaign.
Its spurious claims do nothing to stimulate a healthy debate on the future of democracy in Lewisham and its refusal to contemplate anything other than the established order suggests nothing but a group of closed minds.
It is interesting to note that these people do not argue for the alternative on offer. Their campaign is based on negativity.
Let the people have their say on what they want for their local area. That is democracy.
