WHEN Georgie Hobday’s 16th birthday party caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to her parents’ home in Brighton, her last thought was being commended for model behaviour.

Georgie made national news in 2008, including three stories in The Argus, when her party at her home in Montpelier Crescent was overrun by hundreds of yobs after the address was advertised on Facebook.

The then Brighton and Hove High School student suddenly found herself in the middle of a media storm, with her mother Sylvia Hobday describing the events as “an absolute horror show”.

It’s something modest Georgie can now look back on with a smile: “I couldn't believe people were so interested in the 'girl has party’ story.

“There must have been no news that week,” she laughs.

To her surprise, Georgie was snapped up by Storm, Kate Moss’s modelling agency, which likened her ethereal redhead look to the supermodel Lily Cole.

“I’d never really thought about modelling before,” Georgie says. “The photos they published were taken by a woman I met at a Brighton car boot sale who asked me to pose for her – that’s the only modelling I’d ever done.”

The unique beauty soon found herself whisked off to London for a series of high profile photo shoots.

"It was beyond exciting to start doing something totally new and working with all these people, but I took my mum to all my first jobs," she admits.

Now 21, Georgie lives in London and has starred in editorials for magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Marie-Claire, Tatler, Grazia, i-D and Wonderland, along with fronting huge campaigns for Agent Provocateur and Illamasqua. She’s also a favourite with celebrity photographer Rankin and is now on the selective books of top agency Profile.

Having spent the last few years juggling a busy modelling career with a degree in fashion history and theory from the acclaimed arts university Central Saint Martins, the model student has just scooped her first publishing position as the managing editor of Ponystep magazine. Her new job now sees her attending London Fashion Week from the other side of the catwalk.

But the gorgeous Georgie isn’t just blessed in the looks department; her modelling agency is as keen to praise her vibrant personality and academic feats as they are her photogenic looks.

Christophe Chalvet de Recy, director of Profile Model Management, said: “A photographer recommended Georgie to us and since meeting her, we haven’t looked back.

“She is a very versatile, intelligent and driven young woman who will succeed whatever path she chooses.

“I'm modelling and working so I'm crazily busy with two full time jobs, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I love it.”
