More than 100 entrepreneurial women from the south east gathered in London for a networking event when they lisened to speeches by food guru Annabel Karmel and businesswomen's champion Erika Watson.

It was organised by the Sussex-based Mumpreneurs Networking Club (MNC), which was founded four years ago by Sara Guiel, from Arundel, and Nicky Chisholm, from Brighton.

The event, at Google Campus London, was designed to connect and inform mumpreneurs from the region by selecting dynamic successful speakers to create “networking magic”.

Keynote speaker was Annabel Karmel, the best-selling author of more than 30 books on nutrition and cooking for babies, children and families.

MNC director Sara Guiel, who is from Arundel, said: “Annabel Karmel is an amazingly successful businesswoman and she has built her business through hard work. ”

Erika Watson, who founded the Prowess Women in Business website, urged delegates to support her Manifesto for Women in Business, which she has written to campaign for women in business to be high on the agenda for the 2015 General Election.

Also on the line-up of speakers was Coronation Street actress Debbie Arnold, who runs her own production company.

The event's sponsor Patriona Briggs designed an app for MNC that enabled delegates to ‘check-in’ so each has a list of attendees to network with afterwards.
