The streets of Sussex are full of chic trendsetting fashionistas. Every week we track them down and give you the lowdown on their street style to inspire you...
Name: Ellie Petrova
How old are you? 25
Where do you live? Just moved to Brighton and loving it!
What are you studying and where? I just finished my MA in character animation at Central St Martin’s in London and am now hoping to get a job as a 2D animator/illustrator here in Brighton.
What Ellie is wearing:
Hat: £20, from H&M, a present from my girlfriend
Sunglasses: London Design Rayflector – I bargained for them in Camden and got them for £7.
Necklace: A Valentine's gift from my girlfriend from Etsy (she won’t tell how much). It's silver and was supposed to have our initials E & L engraved on it but she made a typo in the email to the jeweller so now it says E & D. That’s her surname initial, so close enough, I guess.
Bracelet: Silver bracelet that my dad gave to my mum when they got engaged. Hasn’t been off my wrist since mum gave it me when I was 10, apart from this time in sixth grade when this girl from seventh grade stole it from me and I had a fight with her in the school yard.
Handbag: Great second-hand leather bag I bargained for at the Camden Lock market. Got it for £20.
Shirt: Around £15, from Urban Outfitters. Hand-me-down from the girlfriend.
Trousers: £8, from TK Maxx l Braces: £7, H&M. A present from my girlfriend (she gets me a lot of things all the time).
Sandals: £15-£20, from Fiorelli. Went out with my nan when I was last back home in Bulgaria and she bought them for me. This makes me sound like I never buy anything myself, ha ha!
Rosanna’s style:
She says: “Lately I like combining tops or trousers with colourful patterns with the top or bottom being plain. Paisley is my favourite pattern and turquoise my favourite colour. Anything with paisley goes. Mostly, I like earthy colours but there have been occasions when I would buy something ridiculous with clashing bright colours. Overall, I like comfortable clothes with a bit of attitude. On the odd occasion, I wear dresses – plain, tight, fitted ones with tights and boots. Heels are a no no.”
